According to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, there were up to 1,855 foreign investors who were granted with the Significant Investors Visa (SIV) by investing AUD5 million into SIV complying investments since the commencement of the SIV Program on 24th November 2012.
Ever since Australia introduced SIV, most of the SIV holders are from China and Hong Kong, each constituting 87.5% and around 3.1% of the holders. There are also other holders from Malaysia, South Africa and Vietnam.
Meanwhile, 60% of the SIV holders have chosen to live in the beautiful Victoria state, which its capital Melbourne has been rated by The Economist Intelligence Unit as the most liveable city for 7 consecutive years.
